25 years ago to the weekend, the iconic first all carbon fibre chassis road car was launched in Monaco at the sporting in front of many avid Mclaren aficionados, we held the 25th Anniversary party.
Little did we know, but could have suspected that the car would become the iconic car of the 1990’s, rather like the Ferrai 250 GTO of the 1960’s.
25 years later, of the 106 cars that were made only 103 remain. 78 road cars including 6 LM’s and 3 GT’s, and 28 race cars.
The event, held at Les Sources de Caudalie, including visits to Chateaux – Cheval Blanc, Montrose, Cos D’Estournel, and Alesme saw 22 F1’s representing both race and road cars driven by their enthusiastic owners and followed by 15 turbo popping little sisters – the P1, including the recent P1LM that holds the Nurburging lap record – for the time being.
The event has been acclaimed to be the best Road Tour imaginable and included evening entertainment each night with magicians to musicians to violinists in Oxygen Spheres.
